There’s a difference between those for whom Christ is their life and those for whom Christ is their religion. It’s not about our receiving Christ. It’s about us agreeing with Him that we have been received into His life. In this video Silvie Paladino ‘sings life’. The Spirit of the Lord is on her, the Holy Spirit is with her and the people sense it. There applause is less a response to her artistry superb as it is than it is the moving of the Holy Spirit on the people.
Christ come in our flesh is the Big Gift of Christmas.
We will do better as people and preachers and social workers if we live the Christ come in our flesh, than if we live Christianity. That which Jesus began was not a religion but an incarnation – the living way in which all who put their faith in Christ are incarnated with Him and by Him with Father and Holy Spirit.
As a person alive in Christ’s life, you be a life-giver to your spouse, family and those you touch. You will impart Christ’s life simply by being you. His life is not religious. It is spirit and life that flows from the trinity – the life-hub of the cosmos into you.
As Savior, Jesus saves us from isolation into companionship with God as God’s daughters and sons. As the I AM you saves you into the real you, delivering you from the false self of the knowledge of good and evil and transforming you to the True Self that you are becoming in Him. In Christ you have more than a Holy Night. You get a holy life that is not religious, but fully human and fully divine. The bonus is that you get eternal life – a quality of life that begins now because you are filled with His Spirit. ‘O Holy Night, fulsome life.
